Barovia Church - Still Image (Patreon)

"Father! I'm starving!"

This location is such an awesomely depressing introduction to the land of Barovia. The whole encounter with Doru, the starving vampire spawn and his father, the mentally broken priest is a great representation of how the land of the vampire breaks all who live under the mists. And the fact that the church has been subject to so many attacks by minions of Strahd over the decades shows the constant stress of the people of Barovia.

This one was super fun to paint, the broken church on the hill and the looming castle in the background, always looking down on the town. I tried to give a similar colour and tone to the town of Barovia image as I would think this would be the next location for any group running Curse of Strahd.

I will be doing the breakdown of this image in the next couple of days, so that should be up soon for all $3 patrons. And as always be sure to check out my instagram for a preview of the animated version.
