So. Many. Bones.

But seriously, this was a lot of painting bones. Detailed images like this actually take a lot longer than a lot of the landscapes I have done, just because I have to pay attention to every little pixel in an image like this one.

I think the best part of this image was actually doing the research in the beginning when I look for visual reference. And its funny when I find the same reference that I think the authors did when they were looking for inspiration for this location. If you're interested, check out the Sedlec ossuary and you'll see what I mean. But, despite the hours of painting bones while listening to a lot of metal I still enjoyed this one and think it came out pretty creepy, and was an interesting diversion from my usual style. Lemme know what you think.

As always you can check out the animated preview on my Instagram

I used the animated version of this in my game. My players - even two who have RUN CoS and knew this room was coming were appropriately creeped by the image. Absolutely worth the patreon donations every month. Thanks!

Awesome! Any plan to make it a gif too?

Okay, I know this was FUN to draw! Though I bet it crept in your dreams once or twice while working on it. Great work, as always

This is really well done! Just in time for my party to check out the castle, too. Did you omit the dragon's skull from the picture? I don't seem to see it in the image.

It could be a “where’s Wally” .. keep looking 😜. Great detail here James
