There is no real description in the Lost Mines of Phandelver adventure of the approach to the entrance of Wave Echo Cave, which always makes my depiction a little more creative. The first area in the location is basically a side entrance room after following a long passage, and as the party probably later discovers that the main entrance has long ago collapsed. But, there is no description of what anything looks like from the outside, so I decided to depict the old main entrance to the dwarven mine and hint at the path to the side entrance. I thought also that this might also make the image more useable as a generic location that could fit into any adventure. Either way, I had fun working on this one.

As always, let me know what you think of this one and of course, you can find the animated version preview on my Instagram

Great work as always James! I’m actually play through this adventure with some new players this weekend, so perfect timing😎 do u have more illustrations from Lost mines of Phandelver?

Great art as always. I just wish it was more hidden. Hard to believe no one has been able to find it for over 500 years.

I’ve DMed this adventure many times, but never with your art as visual support. Now I can’t wait to play it again. This image will definitely help set the final stage. Great job James!

Thx for the art! It’s really annoying no art work of WEC was available before.

BTW, would you also consider doing an art work for Gnomengarde in the future? It’s another popular dungeon without any art.
