Happy new year! (Patreon)
Content
Thank you.
Without any effort, gratitude is always the first emotion that I feel when I think about this Patreon page. You all who are reading this have contributed more to my life that you have ever thought about and could possibly imagine. I, like all of you, have had ups and downs this last year and the support that I get from this patreon page and the constant appreciation that I receive for my artwork is always a consistent source of positivity for my life. Everything that being able to create my art full time has taught me about myself, and the world and the way a life can be lived has really inspired huge changes for me. And because of that, I try to encourage others at every opportunity I see, to try and find their own version of living in the way that I have found.
So, please, as a general rule, embrace your hobbies and if you don’t love what you do now (like I didn’t), know there is a potential future where, if you work towards it, you won’t have to ‘work’ anymore, because you will love what you do and find true meaning in it. Everyone has a unique perspective and there are many people out there who will want to here yours. If you have an idea for making anything, please just try it, it may not be “The” idea (many of mine weren’t), but you never know what it will teach you along the way.
But again, thank you for the amazing support so far, it’s truly changed my life.
More than that though, since moving to England last month, which is one of the amazing opportunities that this patreon page has provided, I have become very inspired to put more effort into my art and this patreon. Firstly, I want more interaction with my patrons so, starting with the $4 tier patrons I will be creating a discord server that will hopefully be a good place to start with that goal. I haven’t run a server before, so I am wanting to hopefully start with a smaller number of people, therefore the higher tier, just so I don’t get overwhelmed immediately. I have also started posting more of my process and thoughts on Twitter. I have never really enjoyed social media that much, but again, wanting to try for more interaction, this seems like a good place to start too.
Finally, for 2022, I already have some ideas for new projects and new uses for my art which I will be exploring and talking about more in the next couple of months and which I may need help with, which is another reason for more supporter interaction. But, I am very excited for the future and I hope those who come along will get a lot out of it.
Happy new year!
Cheers, James.
