So, again talking with discord folks, I had a couple of people recommend doing some roadside camp locations, as it is such a commonplace use. I also haven't done any locations from my world in a while and I wanted to throw some of that in there. So, this roadside camp is a common road stop for folk as the well at the tower has, for generations, provided clean drinking water. But also, this tower, belonging to the long gone Elder Folk has been sealed since its discovery. All the discovered structures of the Elder Folk are from an ancient time and constructed with long forgotten magics and materials and this tower is no exception. Many have tried over the years, to unlock this tower from the outside, but all attempts have failed, so folk gave up long ago. The tower mostly now functions as a beacon for folk on the road, as its strange almost reflective surface, can be seen shining in the afternoon sun from miles off. Though no one knows its former use it remains a curiosity to folk as, like all Elder Folk buildings, it stands unmarred from the elements despite its ancient age.

Like all my personal world locations, I had a lot of fun formulating a story for this location, and I thought it might add a little flavour to an otherwise standard roadside camp. So, hopefully it inspires some ideas for you all who need a location like this.

Yes please. This is fantastic. Could you do one in a snowy location, maybe on a mountainside above the tree line? A tent being battered by desert sands in the cold night air. A couple of beds setup and gear under a large branched tree protected from rain. Thoughts I could share on the Discord, but I am here right now. 🙃

I like it as a waystop/curiosity site. Another on-the-road type scene would be a travelling merchant. You know the oddball type with the strange covered wagons with stuff hanging on the sides and whatnot. Perhaps in the scene he has stopped during the day and set out his wares hoping to catch the eyes of passersby.

omgosh, yes!! this is beautiful, the colors rich and deep - but still soothing and definitely giving the "almost-sleepy-time" vibe of a camp settling down for the evening/night those sun rays are sooo skillfully applied, just *chef kiss* lovely. And your use of foreground, mid, and background elements adds so much detail and dimension. . . every time I look again, I find more elements to praise. srsly, gorgeous rendering of a very basic idea with tons of useability - your touch really elevates these pieces from basic throw-away lines of description into a visceral and immersive world. i can keep going. . . but maybe I'm gushing too much? >.<
