Continuing underground with James' RPG Art travel series. Getting lost in the cave systems of the world. I have found that if a party is looking for a specific location within a larger area, like a cave or forest or any of the 'travel' locations I have been painting recently, running them through a skills challenge to see if they can traverse the location and find the place they are looking for works really well. I stole this idea from Matt Colville and it works really well and I think is the best use for these kinds of images I have been making recently. He has a great video on "making travel interesting" that I suggest you watch to see what I mean.

You can use the generic 'travel' image as they're running through the narrative skills challenge, then use a specific location image when they find what they're looking for.

Lemme know if you have done this kind of thing in the past and how you would be using these travel images.
