Magic items are such a huge part of D&D, both for the characters that use them and for defining the world they're a part of. I imagine that the wealth and power that magic items provide their owners is a theme that could be played up a lot more often. In my world The Westlands, no one has inherent magical ability or knowledge of how to harness it, but the ancient lost race, the Elderfolk, were great creators of magic, and left behind masses of magical creations. This has provided the new folk of The Westlands with great power, and some factions have hoarded these creations.

What would a room like this mean in your world or campaign? I think it's interesting to think about and how a faction like this would function. Would it make them overtly or covertly powerful?

Let me know what you think of this one, and if it inspires something for your game.

As always you can check out the animated version preview of this one on my Twitter, and you can also follow my progress on The Westlands there.

Ok, I'm working this into my version of ravenloft... Not sure where but strahd has a secret library where he keeps his spellbooks, rare casting ingredients, a few magic items, a spare coffin, and his collection of vials of blood from all the adventurers that have ever ventured to barovia.

This is so great! I would LOVE to see a series of rooms like this: palace rooms, shop interiors, library rooms, interesting rooms, full of curiosities or trophies from past quests; a taxidermy room with unusual mounted beasts; living rooms and bedrooms, dining rooms/halls, rooms from various cultures and social strata levels, etc. like your travel views series which is so great and useful in so many situations.
