The most influential pieces were by John George Brown (instagram.com/p/C_BhC_mJFV3), Alma-Tadema (instagram.com/p/C9VHw39InnF/), and Emile Friant (instagram.com/p/C8XEs6Oo4EJ/?img_index=1); each, especially the last one, captured a daydream-like melancholy I personally experience when I paint. Though the creative process can be arduous in the intermittent phases, taking short breaks to imagine/fantasize about the finished piece usually provides enough motivation to continue!
