Though it required some patience and experimentation, I'm immensely proud of this piece's overall development; yes, it demanded a deviation from my standard counterpunctual approach, but created an opportunity to emphasize and compose around the aspect that most moves me: the melody.

'Til now, I assumed the only way to compose sophisticated music was to utilize every compositional tool at my disposal to produce a notationally complex score, and, by extension, more complex music; however, despite my best efforts, I often lost the inspirational sound amidst the clutter. 'Curse of the Mark' may be an important lesson in moderation: it's arguably my simplest orchestration to date, yet its impact, its narrative clarity, and audible depth is undeniable.

For the first time, the final composition is precisely as my initial musings intended, if not better.

Your patience and support are deeply appreciated,

Soic

I told you before when you showed me earlier but this is amazing and the fact that you can do this AND draw is insane. You CAN do this! Never doubt yourself!
