My intention was to experiment with opacity juxtaposition ( i.e highly transparent shadows against thick, opaque lit regions) to produce a more three-dimensional impression. I may incorporate what I've learned into the next oil painting, especially the prominent use of texture and impasto; however, the longer I examine the final results compared to past studies, the more I question its success...
