Also, although Weak Hero and Squid Game are so goated, I feel bad whenever you say you get traumatized with these types of shows, but since you opened up to the Kdrama genre there are also light and fun ones which you can watch after or alternate with these. Teachers are rarely seen in the classroom because they wanted to focus on the conflicts and relationships of the students. The plot prioritizes the interactions of the students and their struggles rather than prominent authoritative figures in the school setting. If there were teachers they would have minimal interactions with one another

I mean to be fair guys, the dude choked him out so Si-eun stabbed the hand he used to do that. If a person has the balls to make an attempt on your life by squeezing the life of your neck, then his hand getting stabbed with a pen is a mercy, IMO. Maybe he'll think twice about using his hand again for that purpose. The scar will definitely be a reminder, at least.

Bullying south Korea is harsh reality to some students. A lot of the bullying is from the kids who like to make others feel in superior or like they don't matter to anyone. Most of the time it could be shown through taking the victims lunch money or making them do little errands by getting the victim to buy them stuff like a can of coke. lots of times it could also be a cause of the high expectancy for academic expectations among the school systems. mostly because of all this, south Korea has a high rate for self deletion.

It’s heartbreaking how much pressure and bullying students face there. The combination of peer bullying and academic pressure can be overwhelming. I hope more awareness and support systems get introduced to help students feel safe and valued.

bullying is actually that bad in korea. it's so bad that it leads to extreme violence and harassment. the glory is another kdrama surrounding bullying and even though it's a dramatization it's been inspired by real-life incidents. it's an amazing show as well as weak hero!

For context on bullying in Korea: Bullying is a serious issue, and while k=dramas can dramatize it for emotional impact many stories are rooted in real life cases that reflext the systemic issues that seems to be on the rise. K=drama the glory depicts extreme bullying (burns beatings humiliation) inspired by a real 2006 case. While some are exaggerated for sure it reflects true patterns of abuse and the lack of intervention from teachers sadly. It's hard to prevent: ineffective prevention comittees, legal loopholes, lack of victim support and cultural pressure as Korean schools are hyper compeitive academically which fosters aggresions and puts people off reporting. Government reforms are still underway to strengthen legal authority and improve comitees. and the public awareness is growing through k-dramas. But it's a huge deal for any kpop idol or celebrity if they get accused of being a 'bully' in school - people take that SERIOUSLY and get cancelled (although in some cases these can be leis to try get an idol cancelled)

Yes guys, Bullying in Asian countries is on another level. It's more physical. Most of the times boys used to decide time in our school to meet outside for a fight, and then police would come. Then for a few days, they didn't used to come to school because they beat each other brutally, with weapons as well. Pictures and photos of fights and getting beaten up used to be circulating in group chats alot...... This is definitely not exaggeration when it comes to Korea as well. If you hear stories about bullying in Korea, you can even say this is not even 10% of it fr.

When I was high school in Victoria had a pen stabbing. It did a lot of damage actually that required plastic surgery and skin grafting for the kids face. Was on Chanel 7, 9 and 10 news. Probably can find the news articles about it. Was about 15 years ago. We also had s year 7 girl hold a knife to another girls neck. So yes, whilst it's probably uncommon to these such violent acts in Australian schools. It definitely does exist. Not sure what aussie schools are like now, but when I was in high school there was alot of fights and physical violence in Victoria
