A Heavenly Pact is something you’ve seen before with Maki and Mechamaru. It’s basically: You’re born with a large disadvantage so in return you gain a large advantage. Toji (like Maki) has zero curse energy, in exchange his physical ability i.e strength, speed, reflexes are superhuman. Mechamaru was born in constant pain and missing limbs in exchange his cursed energy had a huge range. They are specific cases, not all sorcerers have pacts. Toji and Maki are slightly different but any more would be a spoiler.

YES I WAS WAITING FOR THIS EPISODE LOL But just to remind you a 'Heavenly Pact' is sort of like a trade off system. Like Maki and Mechamaru in the first season. Maki has a Heavenly Pact that allows her to have insane physical abilities despite not being able to see cursed spirits and Mechamaru has a Heavenly Pact that allows him to use his mecha body in farther ranges because he was born without a complete set of his limbs, thus not being able to move.

Some commenters already explained what a heavenly pact is, but just to add - Gojo's six eyes see/sense cursed energy. That is how he is able to "see" everything even with a blindfold. I assume he is probably over stimulated so the blindfold and glasses help muffle things. That is why he could not follow Toji's movements and was just a bad matchup for him after being worn out. Also, he is obviously still younger and more inexperienced than in season one.

hey, this wasn't shown in the anime but was talked about in the manga, Gojo's eyes let him see cursed energy to extreme detail so much so that it exhausts him seeing everything, the blindfold is like blackout shades but even still he can still see through it. The eyes also let him never run out of cursed energy because they increase the efficiency that much. The heavenly pact is something you are born with, it's a binding vow which is a trade off, you lose something you gain something else of equal value. He was born with 0 cursed energy(even the average human has at least a little bit of cursed energy) and in return he is basically superhuman.

We already heard of Heavenly Pact's in season 1- Maki and Mechamaru have that. Basically you dont really make the pact, for some reason you are being born with that

Maki is actually exactly like Toji- no cursed energy which is compensated by powerfull body, Mechamaru is the opposite- weak body but he can maniplulate cursed energy over HUGE distances

Few things: - I'm not sure if you realised, but the blonde guy with the emo bangs who was on lookout at the airport in Okinawa as back up was none other than Nanami (7:3/overtime sorcerer incase you didn't remember his name which given the past few eps' reactions....seems likely lol). He was a grade/year younger than Gojo and Geto and a first-year at the time. He was with the only other first-year and his partner on missions, Yu Haibara, the black haired guy. You'll want to remember him for later. - Amanai isn't wearing a maid's outfit. It's the typical school uniform for female students in Japan. - Gojo is 16 here. Since Charlie mentioned they haven't given a good indication of ages, I'll break it down a bit: - This flashback arc takes place in 2006. Gojo, Geto, and Shoko (short haired girl, she is their best friend and in the future the school's doctor who you see patching Itadori up when he was killed) are in their 2nd year of high school. They are 16. Amanai was 14, she was still in middle school. Utahime (teacher at the Kyoto school who's always fighting with Gojo) and Mei (the sorcerer with the braid over her face in the future who's always bringing up her fees) are around 18 or 19 as they have already graduated by this arc. Nanami and Haibara are 15. Principal Yaga is in his late 30s, as by Season 1 he is 47. - Season 1 took place in 2018, so about 12 years after this arc, when Gojo is a teacher. He's born December 7, 1989 so he's 28 in present day, while Nanami is 27. Itadori and Megumi (Fushiguro) are 15, Nobara is 16. Maki and Inumaki are 16, Yuta is 17, and Todo is 18. Principal Gakuganji is 76 lol. - The JJK 0 movie takes place a year before the events of Season 1, so everyone is a year younger during it. - Lastly, want to make a note about Gojo's powers in this arc vs the Gojo we all know and love from Season 1. You have to realise he's significantly younger and hasn't built up the skill or practice of his techniques. That's why they showed him failing to do his technique Reversal: Red earlier, he's a spring chicken compared to how honed and powerful he is in Season 1.

i really think you guys would like chainsaw man for the next show. it’s from the same animation studio as jjk and has a lot of similarities. it doesn’t do comedy in typical over the top animation style like jjk or demon slayer. it is raunchy yet remains serious. thank yall for reacting to all our fav shows

Kuroi was in a maid's uniform bcos she's Riko's maid. 😁 Toji does not have cursed energy as mentioned, just like Maki. They just use cursed tools, but obviously Toji is on another whole level. They're both from the Zenin clan, born with "heavenly pact" rather than cursed energy - it's just extraordinary physical strength/ability. And yep, this arc goes a bit faster so y'all can keep up if you pay attention in the details more. The coming episodes will be fast paced, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. It's far different from Demon Slayer which slowly explains a lot of things - in JJK, you'll have to catch up a bit 😉

Further lore about heavenly pacts that has been mentioned when mechamaru talked about it, its when someone is born without something they should have had Mechamaru has a weak body and missing limbs, and maki doesnt have cursed energy even tho shes a Zenin. So in return to compensate for this misforune they are given something to make them strong in return.
