the guy that yall think is tanjiros dad (no spoiler) actually once defeated muzan idk if he was a demon at that time but basically the demons that have his blood i think have that fear of him too+memory that muzan has of him thats why they see that sometimes when they fight with tanjiro (he has the same earings)and he uses that fire thing just like the guy in muzans memory anyways it will get clearer in the future!!

That is not Tanjiro's dad btw, we have seen Tanjiro's dad before and it wasn't that guy. He just happens to look like him. Also Tanjiro's died of sickness, a couple days later is when Muzan showed up to the house and turned Nezuko into a demon and killed the family, that's when the story starts.

all we know is he was face to face with Muzan and Tamayo before in a flashback, there was no info that they had a fight at all. And defeating Muzan its not obvious at all, if it was obvious then why muzan is still alive.

Incase you guys manage to read the comments. Since Nezuko doesn't eat humans and she's that powerful it's because she sleeps alot. I guess sleeping alot gives her that stamina and strength just like the other's And also that is not Tanjiro's dad but he was friends with Tanjiro's dad. Tanjiro's dad was shown earlier in the season you guys might have probably forgotten but they still show him later in like season 3 I think

I just wanted to mention, the thing with Tanjiro, the reason he suddenly started to gasp and cough right as he was about to chop Daki's neck was becuase, during the entire sequence of him using Hinokami Kagura after his eyes started bleeding, he didn't breathe once, not a single times during that entire fight with Daki did he take a single breath for the Kagura moves. So when his sister told him to breathe, it was kinda like a jolt of 'hey, you aren't breathing at all, maybe you should do that,' and between having to try to get proper oxygen and the backlash of doing multiple Hinokami Kagura moves in a row, it pretty much did him in at the end there and he passed out.

he wasnt, that is yourinchi demon slayer from 500y ago that almost killed muzan he was so strong that he died of old age fighting all the upper ranks. the scene your reffering to ik in like s3 or4 the flashback is just tanjiros ancestors like 400-500y ago

Is it Tanjiro's dad or Yourinchi you are referringto. I know he's over like 500 years old or so but I also remember a flash back that Tanjiro's dad was carrying Tanjiro and Yourinchi paid them a visit and they where talking to each other. Unless that was actually Tanjiro's grandfather and the baby was Tanjiro's father or so But I get though I just always thought Yourinchi was associated with Tanjiro's father.

Agree with Filipoo. Btw it's Yoriichi. He's the first Sun Breathing demon slayer, so he's probably like an ancestor of Tanjiro's dad/ Kamado family. And yes he almost killed Muzan, that's why Muzan remembers the earrings that Tanjiro's family is wearing.

People already kinda said this here but Tanjiro's father is named Tanjuro. The man in the flashback (the one you said is his father) is named Sumiyoshi. The man lived more than 300 years ago, so that was just an ancestor of Tanjiro and his father.

Bro that was an ancestor, not Tanjiro’s father, let’s also remember that his father is called Tanjuro and to the scene that you are referring to the one who is there who looks a lot like Tanjiro is called Sumiyoshi or something like that and he is an ancestor, besides how is Yorichi going to visit Tanjiro’s father if he died years ago 🤨
