If Gojo dies or loses his mental capacity (aka rn), Megumi would be brought back into the clan (he’s a Fushiguro rn, not a Zenin) and would become the head of the Zenin clan

just for clarification!! so the blonde zenin clan guy, naoya, was supposed to become the head. BUT the will basically stated that if Gojo is out of comission for any reason (aka being sealed), then megumi would be brought into the clan and become the head instead. that’s why naoya is now aiming to kill megumi,, because the condition was met last season after gojo was caught with the prison realm

I know you watched back to back, so this comment is a week late, but I definitely recommend watching a recap of Season 2 so you can connect the dots going forward — I think this part may have been missed. The “frames guy” / “film technique” Ben mentioned during the intro is Naobito Zenin — the will from the previous head of the Zenin clan was his, and as you saw in this episode, he died. The writing in Jujutsu Kaisen isn’t always direct; a lot of things are implied in the moment rather than spelled out through dialogue. There is a direct reason why Choso (the blood guy) keeps calling Yuji Itadori his brother — and it’s something you need to know. They are actually related; there’s no theory or mystery there, and it’s explained clearly in recaps. It’s hard to explain such a dense show properly in a single comment, because with more answers come more questions. Watching a recap where someone walks through those details and connections makes it much easier to understand. The show moves fast, so without that, it’s very easy to miss important things going forward — if you don’t clear up connections between characters, important info in the next episode will make no sense, and if you get to episode 3 you’ll probably be super lost.

What happened in this Zenin clan convo is pretty simple A) If Gojo is around and world is safe, then Naobito's son becomes Clan Leader, but if B) Gojo is not around for whatever reason then Megumi becomes Clan Leader. It's not about if Megumi is alive or not, it's about Gojo status

The thing that’s been controlling Geto has been jumping bodies and having babies. They’re called curse wombs. That’s how choso and yuji are brothers. They are related spiritually if that makes any sense. Choso and the brothers Yuji killed were only some of all the curse wombs. There’s a bunch that still haven’t manifested yet. Mojito fed one to a guy in season one that he had pinned to a wall.

guys pls, watch a recap, you can't keep watching without understanding what's going on lmao, the clan part is about the Zenin clan, one of the three big clans of Jujutsu society (Big 3 clans are Gojo, Zenin and Kamo). Toji Fushiguro, Megumi's father, was part of the Zenin clan, but he left bc he was abussed and discriminated by the clan for not having curse energy (Toji didn't have curse energy, bc he had a heavenly pact, superhuman abilities instead of curse energy). When Megumi was born, Toji tried to sell him to the Zenins because Megumi has the hereditary technique of the Zenin clan (10 shadows thechnique, the only technique who can be compared in power to the six eyes and infinity that Gojo has), but before he died he told all this to Gojo and gojo went to take Megumi under his care. So the deal that toji had with the Zenin clan was broken, that's why in Naobito's will (the old man who was burned to crisp in season 2) had a clause that said that only if Gojo was dead or gone, the original deal with Toji should be back on place and that's why Megumi is now the head of the Zenin Clan. (sorry english is not my language, but probably y'all can understand what I tried to say lmao)

guys choso and itadori are brothers, it's not a mind trick that choso has on him and it's not similar to his todo situation. He's explained it before that they all share the same father. Thats why Choso tells him to think back because there is at least one of his parents with the marking on their head, and that is Kenjaku ( the thing inside of geto) and no this is not a spoiler Im just trying to help you guys get it.

So to clarify the Megumi situation: Megumi’s last name is Fushiguro, but that’s actually his mom’s last name, not his father, Toji’s original last name. Megumi is actually a descendant of the Zenin clan, like Maki and Mai (the twins are like Megumi’s cousins actually) - This is important to understand! The Zenins are like a dynastic, powerful Jujutsu family that have been a big name for like centuries. They’re like ULTRA-conservatives that believe adhering to tradition is the only way to ensure their continued power. Toji, Megumi’s father was the black sheep of his clan because he had no cursed energy. Which is wild because we all know how strong he was in spite of that fact. But Zenin tradition says no cursed energy=tainted blood, essentially. So Toji turned his back on his family, changed his last name, and started making a living off of being essentially a hitman. He had a grudge against the Zenins and jujutsu sorcerers, and that’s basically the situation Megumi was born into - outside of the Zenin clan, with a non-sorcerer mom and stepsister and a hitman father who wasn’t in the picture. When Toji died though, he remembered he had a kid remember? And he told Gojo, who had just killed him, to find his kid and keep him away from his family, the Zenin clan, if the kid ended up having Jujutsu abilities - and that’s when Gojo went and found Megumi and asked him if he’d help him with his plan to train up the strongest Jujutsu sorcerers. Now fast forward to this episode: the last head of the Zenin clan has died. That’s the picture guy that fought the sea-curse with Nanamin and Maki. Jogo incinerated him and he died. The previous clan head had an heir, Naoya, the blonde, sexist guy that was introduced here. Obviously, all of the guys that were next in line have some clear issues, so when the will is read it says, “Naoya is the heir, he inherits everything, but he can only use his inheritance if the other Zenin guys who didn’t inherit anything say he can” but then there’s a key amendment - that “in the case that Gojo is dead or loses mental faculties” disregard everything about Naoya interiting anything, and make MEGUMI the head of the Zenin clan. So the previous head had some deal with either Toji or Gojo, I forget which, but because Gojo is currently out of the picture, that’s the only reason Megumi has become the next head of the Zenin clan, despite being born and raised completely outside of it.
