A couple points about the games: In the zombie hunt game, natural instinct would be to keep the humans away from being infected and since there were only 4 zombies, chances were low. And zombies at first would tell their team that they were zombies so that they can get vaccine cards and be humans. But in fact, there were no vaccine cards in the game. It was just to give humans enough hope for them to think they could win, which is why the initial plan wasn’t to make everyone zombies. And I will tell about the train one on the next ep!

About Ryuji and Banda in the first ep, the Old Maid game, it was real life. Ryuji wasn’t playing that game in the Borderlands. As I said in the first episode’s comments, Banda somehow is able to travel between the worlds, which is related to the “Joker” concept. And yes, they might well be transferring objects in and out of Borderlands, as we saw with Tetsu, he still had dr*g package with him. But I mean they are even transferring consciousness. And the Borderlands isn’t like the real world, and it isn’t suppose to be, so it’s already meant to be mysterious, guys! Think of it as the mysteries we already have as humans irl, like NDEs. Just like real life, it’s open-ended and mysterious.

And the point about the character storylines and development, I agree that we should’ve gotten more episodes because it’s quite condensed. But again, this season already has a different storyline as you said (especially with knowing the main characters better now) like we know where we are, and it’s more game-driven mow whereas in the first two seasons, we kinda needed characters more to fill that gap and build resilience through this dystopian universe that we knew nothing about. And although so far, the games were quite action-based, I’m just gonna say: Just you wait guys! Because we’re about to get one of the most storylined and character-focused games ever! And since we know this season’s storyline and what this world is now, it’ll be even better and so in-depth that we’ll get to focus on characters. You’ll get wait I mean! Cannot wait!

So fun fact about the canaries, they were actually used in coal mines back in the day as some sort of early warning system! They're more sensitive to and can detect toxic gasses such as carbon monoxide a lot quicker than we can. And so they would get noticibly unwell and that would be a sign to the workers that the exposure was too much and as a result, they were able to haul ass in time pretty much lol. It's also where the saying "canary in a coal mine comes from". I love lil references like this in shows haha
