Sub vs. dub debate can go on for ages the battle never ends I literally could not care less but for future reactions I highly recommend not switching midway through a series like this, for consistency sake alone pick one for the audience and stick with it. Switching midway or flip flopping between both not only pisses off both sides of the sub vs. dub fanbase instead of just one it's also a terrible viewer experience for anyone just trying to enjoy the show with any semblance of continuity or immersion.

The honest truth is that 99% of the time, fans will shit on ALL dubs. The fact that there’s even a debate here shows how great Death Note’s dub is. I actually wish you guys started this way because you missed some iconic moments (potato chip anyone?) but I definitely think you should stick with it this way. You guys seem to understand things more easily and lose focus less and if it helps you appreciate other aspects of the show without stressing about reading all the time, then just go for it. Don’t listen to the ridiculous comments, most people here have already watched the anime so this is YOUR experience.

It’s no surprise that dub lovers will always praise it no matter what. You’re not considering the fact that we already started sub. It would be so unfair to make it dubbed now and switch suddenly in the middle like this, out of nowhere. We already started a certain way so let’s respect the audience please. We all also know that many people don’t like dub (including me) so the ratings will likely drop. Whereas, dub lovers were already watching it subbed, so it would only be fair to keep it as it used to. Plus, “understanding better” is not a valid excuse, because that’s exactly why we have subtitles. That would also mean that everything they watch, they never understand, which is not true and absurd. Understanding the story also requires understanding the mood, characters, tones, and the vibe. With dub, it changes a lot, and it’s not fair to switch out of nowhere.

With all due respect, this is a pretty entitled take. They’re allowed to watch whichever audio they prefer, it’s unfair of YOU to demand they switch back. You can watch the sub on your own if you hate the dub that much. These guys are newer anime fans and if the dub makes it easier for them to focus and understand things, just let them continue. The show is amazing either way. Plus, it’s one of the very few animes where the dub is arguably at the same level of the sub. Don’t stress over this, I’m sure they’ll still probably watch other animes in sub.

We have reasons and not just “shitting on dubs.” You clearly don’t read the comments or read it from a very biased perspective. Switching is not fair.

i am a sub loyalist through and through (i find the emotion and tone depicted by the original voice actors are much more authentic and true to the characters), but honestly do whatever you want i really don't mind. it is your watch experience.

As an anime fan, Sub is always the best way to go. The emotions on the tones of the original VA's can't be matched. Dub is just for lazy viewers who don't want to try to comprehend ✌🏻

So true! There is a reason we love to watch the original. Because it’s written and produced in original, the characters, the vibes, and how they sound is extremely important for the premise of the show. Whereas dub just makes it like every other Western movie.
