Just my opinion- But you also have to understand Hwa jin was fighting a minor even if he was a murderer. So it would have been against ERPB and his morals following since ep 1. And since it was not a rom com so we can go past this quick one kiss thing and bot able to see more scenes with han rim and deputy bong.

I'm pretty sure that Gyu-cheol would've been taken to court. Because the Minister mentioned several cases that would be charged at him including attempted murder. But I agree it could've been worded better.

Thank you for this one helluva roller coaster ride of reaction! You guys made me laugh. Indeed! This final episode is a bang. Haha! Guys I just think you need to chill with Gyu Cheol's punishment. The minister said He will be charged with drug dealing, with attempted murder and for violence. It's not the ERPB to convict him for the criminal charges.They will just be the one to file the charges, alongside the police and prosecution with all the evidences against him. For the expulsion at Jinwon High that is their jurisdiction. So that's what they can only punish him of immediately. Remember, they purposely had their activities and office to be suspended to investigate and collect all the evidences. He is still a minor at this point.

Honestly I think the ending is so important. Because even though we didn’t get the satisfaction of Gyo-cheol getting his ass kicked, Na Hwajin proceeding protecting school in the way his fiancée would’ve wanted. The whole reason as to why the ERPB was made was because of her and her love for her students. That’s why I think ending it with Hwajin letting go and leaving Gyo-cheol is the best ending. It gave him closure to what his fiancée started. Also I don’t know what might’ve happened with the subs but ofc Gyo-cheol is going to prison. It wouldn’t make sense otherwise.

I think the ending is very realistic - this is how life goes. It doesn’t always end with everything closed the way we want. There are still events that happen off screen. Guy cheol will go to court

This is exactly the point. They are not the police, nor are they the judge so they can't say he'll be convicted or anything. If he did, it won't be realistic and be more just cheesy dialogue that has been said in other cop dramas

i agree it might have been anticlimactic for some, but i was just left in awe afterwards. I would LOVE a season 2, i think they left it with the potential of another season, but also i think the ending allowed Hwa Jin closer. It also highlights that there are obviously going to be ongoing issues and that everything isn't just miraculously solved.

I don't know now if someone has explained this but Korea has a huge "homeroom" teacher type of system. Basically this means that is your teacher until the end or until it changes for some certain reason. Kids in middle school and high school would have the same homeroom teacher for years and years and these homeroom teachers would be in contact with their parents and always be in charge of the same kids. its very common for Korean teachers to go out of their way to try and get in touch with their students especially in Korea.
