FREE COMIC FRIDAY: Relic #1: Sophie pgs 29-30 (black and white edition) (Patreon)

Rolling these things out for you awesome subscribers is also a lot of fun for me to retrospect. Characterizing Sophie with enough intestinal fortitude to beat not one but two powered-up Nazis is so important for the first issue. There's a definition of "heroes" in literary mechanics that emphasizes that it isn't the powers or even what the hero does that makes them a hero, but what they overcome. This triumphant victory almost wrote itself and I thoroughly loved interrupting her triumph with the viciousness of the villains.

Guys, one of the things that bothers me as well in fiction and entertainment is when the author seems to indicate that the main character is already dead at the start of the story. OBVIOUSLY you know Sophie's going to survive this SOMEHOW because you know there are other issues with her so please join us next week for what's in store. It is an interesting thing that has application later on... NO SPOILERS!
