Pigeons are my favorite pizza topping. Oh wait, no! I mean when Matt was in the casino before following one of his "sinner departure" people, he saw an incident with pigeons landing on that roulette table causing problems. When he dug up the cash at Kevin's house, driving home he saw pigeons on top of the red stop light. He considered that a sign. The painting in his house he keeps looking at is a painting of Job being tested by God. (which he seems very personally invested in lol) As far as what his deal is about the departed (everyone has a deal that's hard to figure out, huh??) if i remember, its explained more as the series goes on. But from this episode, with the flyers, he wants people to understand this wasn't "The Rapture" (where Jesus comes back and takes all the good people with him to heaven and leaves the sinners on earth to suffer)...he desperately wants people to know how many horrible, awful people also disappeared that day. So that life post this departure, people should still have the beliefs they had before, it doesn't change any of that. With the GR and Wayne etc, he's fighting against new religions/cults post-departure, as well general apathy towards all previously established religions because of the intense, unexplainable event.

I like, as we say in Québec, "all dressed" or "alldress" pizza topping! (the good old everything on it) but I'm not a fan of olives or bacon or pineapple... lol this rewatch, so far, is AMAZING! I'm still blind about most of it but now see things I didn't the first time! there was 1 pigeon on his porch that he pushed away with his broom. there was 2 pigeons on the roulette table and there was 3 pigeons on the light that was red. a sign of god? the second level I saw? maybe it wasn't really self defence but the guy didn't have to steal his cash either. I'm not a religious guy but the padre is in big trouble and it's sad! can't wait for next week!

ah good catch! i forgot the 1 pigeon brushing away....now it makes total sense he had faith it would take 3 times to hit red too!
