NOBODY SPEAK TO ME ABOUT THAT SCENE <3

I've attended several vote counts in the UK. Observers representing all candidates get to walk around the room and look at any vote as it's getting counted. I find it very hard to believe that it wouldn't become apparent quite quickly if any given ballots had had pencil marks erased. Plus given the extremely short time period between collating the votes and counting them, plus the fact that vote boxes have to come to the count centre from hundreds of different polling stations across the region, I don't see how anyone would have the time to figure out which ballots to use an eraser on before the official count begins. I am however very grateful that we don't have electronic ballots here. Way too vulnerable to the sort of rigging depicted in this episode, even if it never really actually happens.

Yeah, you knew what she meant! 😉 The Shoot fandom was very lively when the show was airing.... and the show definitely liked it, too. It's so obvious that even Harold sees it. Hope it's okay to solve this mystery. The actress playing Martine also plays Nancy & Mike's mother, Karen Wheeler on Stranger Things. Love that you are hyping the show to friends. It really deserves so much more appreciation. Brilliantly written & interwoven storytelling. It gets mistaken for just a procedural... especially because of S1. But it had to establish itself first... get it's foot in the door of the network before it could level up fully. It may seem like crime solving procedural on the surface... but it's truly prescient sci-fi.

Both stories Reese told were about (my queen of the show, RIP) Carter. The first time he didn't think he could be honest and the doctor called him on it. But being a cop now, I think Reese realized he could tell it outright he lost a cop friend, and it would help keep his new ID at the same time. I love that Carter's loss, and Nathan's memory/work with Finch is something that is still looming in s4. Yes, the word "friend" is not thrown around lightly with our group. It took Reese and Finch several times calling Fusco a friend with choking/stuttering on the word back in early s2 (maybe even late s1). Names are obviously also significant. I've seen over the years some people think Finch saying "Ms Groves" is disrespectful given Root wants to be called Root, but I don't think it's disrespect at all especially after she came to our side. My own theory is Finch uses Mr/Ms/Detective as a way to keep even his friends at arms length because of the traumas of his own loss. He said Joss maybe twice. Where as Reese and Carter were frequently John and Joss to each other. Nathan is always Nathan to Finch in flashbacks because they were best friends and it was the loss of Nathan (and Grace, though different kind of loss) that was the heart of the trauma.
