What could've been. For those confuddled, this was what was planned straight after Season 3 rather than be waiting about a decade for Season 4.

Makes sense that for the role of the sleazeball principal they cast the Warden from Shawshank Redemption. The principal's judgment came and that right soon...

You pegged Parker (yes, he was on a previous VM ep. : season 1 as the artist boyfriend of the Jessica Chastain character). But, you missed the fellow rookie agent being Nish from season 3. Easy to miss as she actually has hair here.

Personally, I'm not a fan of this direction... starting over in such a separate way with primarily new characters. For me, what made VM great was more than just Veronica. She's the tent pole... but she needs her weird collection of Neptune regulars. Imagine if Buffy went off in S4 to a new gig and they ditched her gang. This VM S4 would've probably had some of the old cast, like Keith. But too many new characters are introduced here for there to be room for the old characters. This wasn't going to keep most old fans happy or bring in many new ones at this stage. It's a neat alternate reality piece to watch... but it lacks VM's uniquely quirky vibe. And I kind of think that having a lawyer background allows Veronica more room for her trademark law-breaking shenanigans than being an FBI agent would.

I'm glad you enjoyed what exists of your beloved FBI Special Agent Mars 😊

Yeah, I like the season 4 that actually aired way better. It's an ensemble show. Veronica isn't Veronica without Keith, Weevil, Logan, and the gang.
