Fun Fact: The actor that plays Ilya is really an American born in Texas. He only had about a month to learn the accent and all of his Russian lines. His accent and pronunciation was so good even many Russian extras on set thought he was Russian.

You wont even recognize them. They act and somehow even look completely different to these characters. They are truly amazing at acting.

In the book, Shane bought the whole building so they’d have somewhere extra private to meet! Also, love how you noticed the parallel of Ilya zoning out at the Russian party with Shane zoning out in the first episode. This show does so many parallels and does them so well. One of my favorite things

Episode 2 is the one that got me hooked!

I think you misread the scene with Ilya and Shane at the Olympics. Ilya wasn't lashing out. He was trying to get Shane to go away because it's not safe for them to talk about things there. So he starts out saying simply, "Not here." (Remember, in the shower scene in ep1, when Shane said, "Not here," Ilya immediately understood and stopped what he was doing.) Because Shane has difficulty picking up on cues from Ilya (likely partly because of his autism and partly because of still not really understanding the situation in Russia), each time Shane doesn't understand and keeps talking, Ilya has too be more stern. By the end of the conversation, he has to be pretty harsh, because Shane can't understand that he needs to stop talking and leave. But you did a really good job understanding everything else that Ilya is going through and seeing that Ilya really does care for Shane. A lot of other reactors failed to see that because of the walls Ilya is keeping up. Thanks for another great reaction!
