For all that Criminal Minds sometimes falls into the same patterns as other procedurals, I *really* appreciate beats like the criticism of the 'Stranger Danger' campaign. I'm old enough that schools were still pushing that crap when I was a kid and on top of all the mentioned problems with it, it gave bigots more fuel when they were pointing fingers at "dangerous" immigrants, racial minorities, and queer folks. There was also a case back in the early 2000s of a kid who avoided potential rescuers when he was lost in the mountains because he was afraid that these strangers were "going to steal him". As Gideon said, we've taught kids to be afraid of the wrong people.

Mandy Patinkin has brought me to near tears so many times on this show (and others). He can do so much with just a few words.

agreed! the way he uses his first name, the way he softens his voice but still hurries over to her - its so simple but gosh it gets me every time!

To use a quote, some could say “He’s out of line but he’s right”. He took no chances whatsoever 😭
