Thank you for this!! Such a great watch. O.R.B, Hypnotize and Take my breath are my favorite so far !! O.R.B lyrics are so silly but i think that's what i enjoyed about it, and the fact that XG is trying out the rock/punk rock genre for the first time. I also think that even though the lyrics are silly for that song, the song feels like an ode to Cocona coming out and telling the haters, we stand with him so 'if you don't like it, fuck you' Love the PS118 version with the rap line. Maya's verse was definitely my favorite, and yes there's been a lot of discourse on it. As to whether she was shading other artists/groups or if she was referring to hate comments that XG have received. I think its the latter cause of how the voice/pitch changed when she started rapping that part and then went back to normal, almost as if she was quoting what the haters said. Overall, I think the album was great! Been on repeat especially for my commute to and from work. An easy listen with atleast one song that you are bound to enjoy, and I also feel like the group's music has matured as a whole. Also love that we got to see the rap line singing more, and the vocal line dabbling in some rap. Super excited for the future of their sound. Also in a new recent interview, Simon said now they are going to be focusing their efforts on the North American market by moving there. Now it wasn't specified if he meant, moving the XGALX office and setting up headquarters there and XG also moving there, or just moving key operations to the US, but I think its interesting he said that after the release of this album. It is true that although XG is huge in the East (Asia mostly) they have so much potential for popularity in the US and you can see with the sound they took to approach this album, is catered for the Western Audience. Anyways, we'll see what the future holds for them. Next month, XG starts their 2nd World Tour. Super excited for that, there will be lots of fancams coming up lol. I also hope they release the dates of other stops soon, so far they have only released Japan and Korean dates. Hope they come near you too so you can get to experience them live :) Sorry for the long comment lol !
