senior, i hate to be the bearer of bad news but i feel like you should know about this. a few hours ago, some sad news has hit XG and XGALX. XG just wrapped up their 2 shows in Nagoya, Japan yesterday. At 12:20am this morning in Nagoya, Simon, Chancellor (one of the prominent XG producers), and 2 other XGALX employees were arrested in the hotel room in Nagoya on suspicion of possession of Cocaine and dried Marijuana. It is extremely heart breaking and there is no more news on it. Just that there will be investigations. So all we can do now is sit and wait for more news or any notices from XGALX. Currently I'm scared because of how this will affect XG members moving forward. Especially since their world tour started and the next shows and festivals are scheduled for next month. There are rumours flying around in the Alphaz community, that this was a set up, that Simon wasn't involved and he just happened to be in the room. But again, rumours. There's also a Japanese article that said Japan police were tipped off about this in March 2025, and they are making their arrests now. Nothing we can do now but sit and wait for more official news. If you want to read more or keep up with what is happening, I will paste some translated news articles below, and I'll also link the megathread on the XG reddit community on this so you can read comments and know more. Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/XGALX/comments/1rc7hku/megathread_simon_arrested_in_japan_for_drug/ Article translation: Producer SIMON, also known as Junho Sakai, of the globally active music group "XG," was arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department on suspicion of possession of cocaine and other substances. The suspects arrested on the spot on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act were Junho Sakai (39), producer of the seven-member artist group "XG" and known under the alias "SIMON," and four male Avex employees. According to investigators, the four men are suspected of possessing cocaine in a hotel room in Aichi Prefecture around 12:30 AM today. XG is currently on its second world tour, and Sakai reportedly participated in the tour in Nagoya yesterday. The Metropolitan Police Department received an anonymous tip last March alleging the group was using cocaine and marijuana, and is currently investigating the cocaine's source. On the night of the 22nd, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department conducted a search of the hotel where the four were staying and seized four bags of cocaine and one bag of dried marijuana. Simon was taken to Tokyo Station by investigators from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department just after 8:00 a.m. on the 23rd. The Metropolitan Police Department has not revealed whether the four have admitted to the crimes.
