Blog 7 - LACC!...a disaster happened at my panel (Patreon)

OOPs I missed a few weeks because I thought I had more queued up :D...

ANYWAY... I went to LACC! WEBTOON always does a bit of a sponsored thing at LACC, and I go every year just to meet up with all the WEBTOON creators. It's always  a huge bash with like 50 people every year, and this year was super frickin fun!I had Lavie (creator of Unwritten Death) and 66 (creator of City of Blank) staying over with me. I'm in driving distance so we just went together every day.

I also had a table at the con- Honestly, I didnt really want to table... I just wanted to hang out. But WEBTOON sponsored some of the table so somehow I ended up getting one, though I was very bad and was barely at my table. I was always away SHOPPING because I never can shop at conventions due to how much luggage I usually bring. I ended up getting a ton of stuff... MOB Psycho 100 and Genshin Impact posters, Neopets blankets, a neopets stress ball, TONS OF COPICS, other art supplies, and wayyy too many gifts for friends. Once I start spending it's really hard to get me to stop lmao..

There were a few WEBTOON parties and I attended every one and had a great time! There was one big official one I came super late to because I went to this restaurant that took literally a WHOLE HOUR to get me my receipt, because their receipt machine was broken and it was just printing receipts into a giant pile, so when we asked for it they had to fish into the pile and read every receipt one by one. Very professional.

And I also... had a panel! It was with Purpah (creator of Suitor Armor) and InstantMiso (Creator of Siren's Lament.) It was just talking about all the basics of storytelling and how to get started with WEBTOON and all that good stuff.

BUT WAIT.

So, it was about 4 minutes into the panel, and I was talking about how I came up with the idea for ITGR. And then suddenly, someone in the VERY FRONT ROW, just leans over and barfs ALL OVER THE FLOOR.

I didn't skip a beat. I just kept talking.

I felt Purpah staring a hole into my face because she was trying to not react to the barf too LMFAO it was so funny, but yeah, I just ignored it because I knew if I acknowledged it then the panel would be OVER.

So, I kept talking for another minute or so...

And they barfed again.

I actually had dragged out my point to try to give my compatriots some time to calm down, which ended up working in my favor because I was able to ignore the second barfening. At this point the person finally got up to continue their business in the trash can, but there was a giant orange pile in front of us... AND WE WERE LIKE, FIVE MINUTES INTO THE PANEL. WE HAD 55 MORE TO GO.

But we successfully did it! I think the funniest thing is when it was over, one of the editors who was asking us questions said he didn't even notice anyone had barfed because he was so nervous about being onstage lmao.

Anyway yeah it was fun! I got my acceptances to ECCC and C2E2 so I'm really thinking I'll hopefully be on the con circuit next year. Woo!
