Ciao amici come state?

Oggi vi porto nella mia cucina ma in un modo insolito: non realizzeremo una ricetta ma parleremo di orti che siano urbani o da balcone in attesa di parlarne venerdi 23 gennaio nella nostra prima diretta serale del 2026 insieme a Stefano C.

Pensando all'orto ed al volerne avere uno mio dove poter piantare ed assaggiare i prodotti da me curati, sono riaffiorati tantissimi ricordi di quando da piccola, con i miei nonni, andavo nel loro orto a raccogliere le verdure. O ancora quando avevo seminato e raccolto la piccola insalatina ( direi mignon) a Gent in una scatola di cartone di una parabola o ancora quando abbiamo chiesto un pezzo di terra per far coltivare le ragazze e, quando finalmente eravamo pronti ad assaggiare le nostre bontà, qualcuno aveva pensato di passare prima a prendersi tutto il nostro lavoro :-(

Comunque perchè non farci un orto in casa in modo da sapere cosa ci portiamo in tavola? Certo oggi vengono utilizzate varie APP per sapere quale sia il prodotto migliore scansionandolo o ancora leggendo i barcode, come faccio sovente con le uova per sapere se sono allevate a terra, ma volete mettere il gustarsi, dopo la fatica, la propria verdura o frutta?

VENERDI 23 GENNAIO ORE 22:00 GRANDE CUCULO, parleremo di tutto ciò ma nel frattempo sono curiosa di sapere se avete un vostro orto tradizionale o con culture particolari come quelle idroponiche o semplicemente perchè vi manca la costanza ( come a me del resto), scansionate ed acquistate i prodotti migliori.

Hello friends, how are you?

Today I'm taking you into my kitchen, but in an unusual way: we won't be making a recipe, but we'll be talking about vegetable gardens, whether urban or balcony-based, while we wait to discuss them on Friday, January 23rd, in our first evening live broadcast of 2026, together with Stefano C.

Thinking about the vegetable garden and wanting to have one of my own where I could plant and taste the produce I tend, brought back so many memories of when I was little, going to their garden with my grandparents to pick vegetables. Or when I planted and harvested the little salad (mignon, I'd say) in Ghent in a cardboard satellite dish box, or when we asked for a plot of land for the girls to grow, and when we were finally ready to taste our goodness, someone thought to come by first and take all our work :-(

Anyway, why not plant a vegetable garden at home so we can know what we're putting on the table? Sure, nowadays we use various apps to find out which produce is best by scanning it or reading the barcodes, like I often do with eggs to see if they're free-range, but can you compare it to enjoying your own vegetables or fruit after all the hard work?

FRIDAY, JANUARY 23, 10:00 PM, BIG CUCKOO, we'll talk about all this, but in the meantime, I'm curious to know if you have your own traditional vegetable garden, one with special crops like hydroponics, or simply because you lack the perseverance (like me), scan and buy the best products.
