Exploration: POLLENZO BRIDGE 2 - Housing and Underground Areas
Buon week-end miei amici.

Happy weekend, my friends.
Remember when I told you about the bridge over the Tanaro River in Pollenzo, of which only two large Neo-Moorish-style pillars remain today?
Well, after doing a little more research, I discovered that there are underground passages that are still partially accessible, so I decided to do a more thorough inspection to see if I could find this access point.
Unfortunately, the vegetation is very thick and makes it difficult to get to the base of the pillars. However, I discovered the old buildings that in the 19th century served as quarters for the tax collectors and later for the military, who were also responsible for collecting tolls for crossing the bridge.
The original coats of arms of the Savoy court are very interesting, with white crosses on a red background and the continuous wording FERT framing them.
In the not-too-distant past, I believe these quarters were used as storage for the maintenance or construction of the new bridge that passes nearby, and I found several wooden boxes containing a series of soil core samples. But I also discovered some old pots and pans, tools, and even a pornographic magazine, which I don't think dates back to the time of King Charles Albert :-) LOL.
Are you curious to follow me on this exploration and see what I've found?
I'm waiting for all the BIG CUCKOO tomorrow, Sunday, July 12th, at 6:00 PM to share this exploration with you in full.
