In order to lay out text for my pencils, I make a new text layer and type in the first word balloon, set the font & size to exactly what I want, and then just duplicate that text layer multiple times to reuse it like a template for the rest of the text (because constantly starting a new text layer and resizing it to the same exact size in Procreate is a literal crazy-making nightmare).

Any time that fist word balloon is just one word - especially an exclamation - the whole page looks like this and makes me giggle before I replace the text in all the subsequent word balloons.

I'm still nailing down the way I make these pages - because it's a much more involved process than GWS was, and now includes my iPad - but I think I'll start showing you guys how I prepare the Elephant Town artwork soon. :)

(Doesn't count as a spoiler if the only word I leak is "DAMMIT," right?)

I think many comics and graphic novels would be just as delightful with this treatment. Imagine the entirety of WATCHMEN with every word bubble filled only with “Hmm...” or all of GWS with the only word (with varying length and punctation) being “Ah”. 🤣

Like the screaming 😱 on Twitter! "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" "AHHHH!"

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds doing text in procreate beyond difficult. 😆

Show me a person who finds text in Procreate EASY and I will show you... a child who has never used any other design program before in their lives.
