Meighan's favorite word in Spanish is "mantequilla." By which I mean, my favorite word in Spanish is "mantequilla."

(Runner up is "hablabamos" because it's the Bob Loblaw of Spanish words.)

Awwwwww! Or, if you speak Spanish, you get to squee! 😍 And my favorite word is "ferrocarril," because I get to roll my rs with abandon. 😁

My favorite word (phrase?) is mantequilla de cacahuates! Peanut butter! 😊

I remember enough Spanish to go d'awwww... Also, it's even more fun to chant "pan y mantequilla" than it is to chant "bread and butter".

I think my fave is "bailar" since that's what clued me in to realising I knew (or could mostly figure out) the lyrics to La Bamba without looking anything up (also there was a terrible movie called La Maquina de Bailar about DDR)

sienta se y escucha bien, una historia en particular, empieza en puerto tropical, cerca de la mar

Even better, this one I carry around on my phone: El puerto espacial Mos Eisley. No encontraras otro lugar tan lleno de maldad y vileza. Debemos cuidarnos.

!!! All of this has been such interesting set up for wherever the story will eventually go

Didn't need to translate. I understood the look from page 12. :)

This was THE BEST THING to wake myself up with

I meant to make a shout-out to Kier again on this!! I had written "boligrifo" in the script, but they asked me where Berto was from, and pointed out that it's possible they use a different word for "pen" in Peru. A quick check with my Peruvian friend that Berto's based on, and yep: lapicero.

Mantequilla is THE BEST! Also, sweet Bob Loblaw reference! I still crack up when I think about "Bob Loblaw's Law Blog"

I about died when I realized Loblaws was an actual chain in Canada!

My most vivid memory from high school Spanish was when we had to stand up and say something we liked in Spanish. One girl stood up and said “Me gusta bailar con mantiquilla.” We all laughed and she stuttered, “MUCHACHOS me gusta bailar con MUCHACHOS”

So romantic!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I think I spotted one of my small contributions here. Some time back, Danielle asked for random Spanish words, possibly terms for food (my mind is stead'ly aging, memories evaporating), and I tossed in 'albondigas' from a junior high school language class of mine. Education pays when it sticks!

Ahh yes! I forgot to thank everyone who contributed their favorite Spanish words. Yours especially jumped out at me. :)
