Well, that could've gone worse!

(If these panels look familiar to you, you're not crazy; we've been here before, with a  different outcome.)

Ash

Ohgod I just read his screen name 🙈🙈

Chris

Chincel... 🤣

Monica Gallagher

I love how your backgrounds always look so effortless! (but also know how much work goes into making them look that way!)

Monica you ALWAYS know just the thing to say to me! I don't know how to put emojis in here so just pretend it's the waterfall-tears one.

I'm imagining emotional chipmunks riding the most death-defying rollercoasters ever inside of Paul's head. Oh look, one of them just went sailing off into the abyss of self-delusional bliss. Ride the wave, Paul. That's some awesome green glow.

Emanuele Barone

Nice, and at long last Patreon has fixed gallery display on iPad.

dcorsetto

AAAHHH hooray!! I didn't know, so thanks for sharing that!!

Andy Ihnatko

She has Disney Princess hair, she's empathetic and kind, _and_ she knows when to use "further" instead of "farther." If a child of mine had brought her home to meet me, I'd be sending off a text message the next morning with my 100% approval and a sensitively-worded message of "DON'T MESS THIS UP"

Parks

Yup. That just sent me on a deep google. I have regrets.

MyOtheHedgeFox

This scene is very close to the pure definitions of “looming dread” and “living art” all at once. You’re so good at combining these conflicting emotions it’s unfair! (And also why I joined your Patreon after re-reading GwS for the umpteenth time!)

There are times like this where I sit there and think "would this character use the correct word?" and it's a very nerve-wracking process to decide whether to write the dialogue that's appropriate to the character and make yourself look like a grammatical dumbass, or just make it correct and pretend the character got it right by accident. Luckily, I think Princess Vanessa here would've paid attention to that lesson in class. ;)

Andy Ihnatko

Nice...it's no surprise that you put that much thought into it. It's a whole spectrum, and each one says something about the character, doesn't it? She knows the difference between further and farther, and I imagine she also knows that it's not important to correct people when they use the wrong one.
