We had Mathew New(d) modeling for CCS (his alma mater) this morning! I had to bow out a bit early, but I got a lot done.

Started out quick with 15 and 30 second poses:

Loads of 1-minutes...

... a few threes...

(I like when they're long enough I can finally add some facial expressions!)

And some longer ones after that:

(I'm including the pre-sketches because I like some of them even more than the final sketch.)

I was gonna duck out after this 10-minute to get back to work on Elephant Town, but then Mathew struck the next pose as if solely to bait me:

I can't drag myself away from a good forced perspective pose!

Next week is the last CCS morning class! My in-town figure drawing partner Michael is champing at the bit to get back in the studio with me and a live model, so once we're both fully vaccinated in May, with luck, we'll be drawing in person again like it's 2019.

What a weird, weird sense of time this past year gave us. Michale and I haven't caught up at all since we stopped drawing together weekly. Will we have a billion things to catch up on? Or will it be like we just picked back up from March 2020? Hmmm time shall tell...
