Our model last night was an old classmate of mine! So it was nice to catch up with her during the breaks.

I'd always assumed she was an art major because she knew so many of us, but she just happened to live with & near a lot of paint-covered, camera-carrying kids. She'd modeled before, but only for photo majors; this was her first time having to sit still for so long, which she enjoyed (she works with preschoolers).

Here are our 5-minute warmups:

I was hoping for a final pose that accentuated her long neck and fun proportions, but I didn't speak up when this tricky pose was decided upon instead:

So I just exaggerated and took my time with the final version.

A little unfinished, but a good challenge! I'm still figuring out these colors and being guided by the warmth of the lights.

She's up for another session, so hopefully we'll see her again soon!

Wow! The colors and exaggerations of that last one remind me a bit of Dali!

Is it weird to say I love the forward-facing knee? Because I do. Perfectly lumpy-bumpy.

I _love_ what you're doing with these watercolors. You've been pulling off that terrific trick where the colors are "wrong" but are 100% right.

YES!! I felt real good about that knee!
