Figure (painting) Drawing Niiiiight (Patreon)

We had our figure sesh last night instead of tonight, hence the not-at-midnight-Wednesday-night post!

We started with 5 minute poses as always; I drew these ones in colored pencil.

We had one long pose for the rest of the night. I spent the first 20 minutes doing a study with pencil & pen:

Just to get the foreshortening & base values down first.

I remembered to take process photos of the final painting! Here's the drawing, which I took a whole 20 minutes on this time:

Michael said it looks like she was just shot because of the pool of red pouring out of her back. Of COURSE I didn't think of that! She was just leaning on a super vibrant red blanket and I wanted the vibrant red reflections on her skin to make sense. 

Oh well. I assure you, she wasn't bleeding out of a bullethole.
