PattyCake Thanks & 2020 Tier Changes! (Patreon)

Hello PattyCakes!

Last year, we (Tony and Layne) decided that it was time to start creating our own content from top to bottom. However, we were missing one piece out of the entire process - ORIGINAL MUSIC. We initially wanted to hire a songwriting team to do this for us, but when they didn’t respond to our emails, Tony said “forget this, we’re doing it ourselves”. We sat down that day and wrote Villains Lair Ep. 1, “What Goes Around Comes Around”.

Once we heard the song come together, we knew we had to do something GRAND for the set, so we called a set designer and they laughed at our budget. The next day we started to build the set out of wood and styrofoam in Layne’s garage. This was a massive undertaking that took several weeks to complete- but we did it! 

We finally had this massive set built inside a rented warehouse space. Tony had spent countless hours perfecting all of the costumes. Shoot day arrived, the actors showed up, and in the heat of the FLORIDA summer, the AC in this rented space suddenly decided NOT TO WORK. That night and well into the early morning hours, we shot that very first episode of The Villain’s Lair. In between shots, the actors would cool off and “de-sweat” in front of a giant oscillating fan and in the walk-in cooler at the flower shop next door (promise- we are not making this up!). 

When we released this video on YouTube, we saw a response that Creators often only DREAM about. Our views soared, the positive comments were rushing in, and we were pinching ourselves to make sure this was real.

After this, we met you... Our Patreon family! We had no idea we could get (or even deserved) this kind of support- but we did! Needless to say, YOU are the reason we are able to have Air Conditioning, a sound stage, materials for costumes, makeup, and so much more! So from the bottom of our PattyCake hearts, THANK YOU.

With all of this being said (and thank you for sticking with this long winded message), we are changing around our Patreon Tier System in hopes of growing our community, and accomplishing a few new things:

1. We want more of you in our monthly chat. They are fun, mildly entertaining 😜, and a great way to get to know you (so we're moving this to the $5 tier)! 

2. We want to simplify the tiers so it’s easier for you to choose what’s best for you.

3. We want to give you more! In fact, we are going to give away Limited Edition Villain’s Lair Pins to the first 50 patrons that upgrade to the $5 tier or higher (pin artwork featuring the Evil Queen, Maleficent, and Jafar coming soon!)

Note: We ARE closing the $1 tier, but don’t worry! If you don’t want to upgrade, you’ll be “grandfathered” in which means you can stay in the $1 tier, and keep your original perks.
