I think guilt played a big part in a lot of Soohos actions. He felt guilty for all the students because he’s the reason they were in the hostage situation in the first place. He felt guilty towards youngro for risking her life to save him. He felt guilty towards his comrades for being the leader and putting them in a situation where they and their loved ones were at a risk for being killed because their country thinks they are traitors. Knowing the type of person he is, he would never leave knowing the students and youngro that he left behind were in a situation where they would not make it out of the dorm alive. He doesn’t have to worry about his comrades because they are already out and he wont find peace until he knows for sure everyone is safe. Very silly choice to come back, but not surprised at all knowing his character.
