My heart broke for Sang Yan in this episode but at the same time, I couldn't really blame Yifan because she has been through a lot

Unless things have changed since I have last been there, China is still very conservative, so PDA in a public place like an airport is still considered inappropriate.

I was so mad at her at this point in the drama. It felt like she was letting her family win by taking away all of her happiness

sad.. leaving everything behind is wrong specially sang yan 😭😭.. but the real wrong and evils here are her relatives... they made her that way.

I know you’re way past this and over it at this point but I just wanted to put my POV and why I sympathize with Wen Yifan and her decision to leave. Like you said its all she knows, shes been through so much trauma that shes just trying to deal with this in the best way she knows how which is leaving (thats what shes used to) and she believes that leaving will protect her loved ones from harm. She didn’t leave because she doesn’t love them, she left BECAUSE she loves them. Trauma is so tricky because people with trauma can often make rash decisions like Yifan did, without thinking and thinking its right at the time. She will come to realize her leaving only hurts the people she loved more and doesn’t solve her problems and that communication is SO important. What she needs is space and time to figure that out on her own even though it hurts right now. She’s working through so much untreated trauma but this time away will heal her and make her stronger. It was hard for me to be upset with her and her decision because she has been through so much and has been made to think her problems and her existence is a burden to everybody around her throughout most her life. She still doesn’t believe she deserves good things and that evil man triggered her with appearing in her life again and brought back all those burdens on her shoulders. I liked it cause it delves deep showing how romantic love doesn’t miraculously cure you of PTSD. Which is a very accurate and realistic portrayal imo. She experienced major regression after being triggered which is also realistic! Even Sang Yan this time around knows she was driven away. Thats why he’s trying to get to the bottom of why she abruptly left! I liked that this helped him walk through her life and find out things about her on his own.

i completely agree with what you’re saying but that’s not to say that it can’t also be true that it was unfair to sang yan. at the end of the day it’s his persistent and understanding character that allows them to be together despite how much she pushes him away. she has her demons and it’s only right for herself that she faces them but i’m allowed to feel bad that sang yan felt the fallout of the situation. those two things and viewpoints can exist cohesively and doesn’t make seeing one view point as dismissing another, nor should we dismiss the other viewpoint from understanding the other

Brandi

Oh I agree! It is unfair to Sang Yan to repeatedly do the same thing to him without properly communicating. I felt for Sang Yan just as much as I felt for her. Sadly its such a complicated situation 😭 also to say I wasn’t saying your viewpoint wasn’t valid! Glad we can have a civil discussion about it cause a lot of people get a bit rowdy over it 🤣 im looking forward to watching the rest of the reactions!

Watching this after I read the novel is genuinely so shocking, spoilers ahead if you haven’t read it, but the whole Hong Kong thing where she runs away never happens in the novel, they had a disagreement and Sang Yan does go to Yihe, that where he finds out about Sang Zhi and Duan Jia Xu, but Wen Yifan literally goes to Yihe a few days after him. And that’s where she confesses everything to him and they have they’re emotional moment in episode 27. Sorry for the rant but like why did that need to happen lol, made me so stressed for what.
