FL would definitelly disagree with Mr Boyfriend's opinion about single fathers even if it wasn't about Ji Ho. She is progressive and doesn't like that traditional conservative mindset of her father. It might also be yet another reason why she doesn't want to marry him, because they are quite different in that regard.

The first few episodes where pretty much like that for me, but I think the peoples opinion about the boyfriend being at fault and a red flag comes in later episodes. Also I think maybe the FL and the Boyfriend where in a point of their relationship where it wasn’t any love left already just monotony and FL is trying to navigate all this with too much carefulness at first but please just wait I think this drama goes up with each episode 😊

Your reaction is completely normal—I think everyone had similar thoughts. You mentioned Reddit, and I remember those post-episode discussion threads well. Most of us saw it as emotional cheating. I also have strong values, so I was pretty annoyed during the first few episodes. Thankfully, it gets better afterward. :) The FL and ML aren't saints, and her best friend is there to give her a reality check. That line she said was spot on and perfectly summed up the situation: "You're friends because that's all you could be." You can tell the FL knows the truth just by the way she says, "We're just friends; there's no harm." Han Jimin's acting was incredible—you could see every emotion on her face in each scene. The boyfriend seems decent so far, although he does have some questionable views about single parents. And I don’t know if it’s just me, but his smirk annoys me. He still wants to marry her, even after his father clearly advised him to walk away. It honestly breaks my heart when he sees her sister leaving the building—that moment should have been a sign for him to confront her. They’re not happy. She’s clearly distant and cold toward him. She’s lying, and he knows it. I don’t know if it’s pride that’s stopping them from breaking up or just a complete lack of honest communication. Still, a lot of us love this drama because it feels real. It's so different from the usual romcoms. All the characters are flawed, and we know it. The director clearly wants viewers to have strong emotional reactions. ps: sorry for the wall of text :/

I rarely find something you say that I disagree with, but in this case it is clear the FL's relationship with her boyfriend is either ending or needs to end. They have been dating for years! She was bound to meet someone who would attract her sooner or later. At this stage (episode) this is not cheating in my opinion, more like flirting. It is the first step to going further, I agree. The FL needs to end her relationship with her boyfriend so she can date others. But she is under pressure not to end the relationship, so I can understand her hesitation. I find this series so fun to watch

helloo again, hope you’re doing well! thank you for the reaction ahah, and for powering through all these moments (also the ones in the next few episodes which maybe you’ve already watched). Takes me back to when I watched this. I won’t discuss much rn (waiting for the next reactions lol) but just wanted to say I agree with your reaction and opinions 100% lol. The nuances of their personalities and I think an overall understanding of why they behave certain ways (like the influence their past or surroundings like parents’ behavior towards the relationship - both the boyfriend and FL - have) might emerge later on and I hope the show becomes a better watch for you. But oof honestly this drama reallly makes you question its characters at times

I watched this drama once when it came out in 2019, and since I hadn't watched many dramas at that point, it was my favorite. I then watched it again a year later, in 2020. Both times, I ignored the obvious signs of cheating from the two leads. Quite honestly, I didn't care too much because none of it was real. But watching it for the third time with you, I now see it clearly, and I agree with your opinions 100%. It doesn't deter me from continuing to watch, though, in the slightest. I still very much enjoy it, and I hope you do as well.

When I watched it I felt like they had been together so long that they had grown apart but stayed with each other because they thought they should. But neither seemed happy. I also got a sense that the boyfriend would not stand up for her against his dad. Saying all this, she is I my opinion emotionally cheating. She should have already let the boyfriend go. It's not a good situation but it is a real situation. And I appreciated seeing these different types of complicated relationships.

I also didn't feel like he was fighting for marriage. I felt like he was feeling her out. Not really passionate about marring her. The fact that it felt like he was so matter of fact like we have been together this long we should think about marriage was off putting for me

Oh no there is never an excuse to cheat on someone. My point was if you are no longer feeling the relationship or willing to work on it then you should leave. I've been married 28 years. But when I dated before that honestly it never took me long to know someone wasn't right for me and I didn't waste their time.

ngl I kinda dropped this drama years ago at this episode because of the fml and I couldn't stand her lack of self-awareness and just emotional cheating. I am gonna give it another chance while watch it with you tho:)

I find it funny how you not liking the show for now is bc for you this is cheating but I started this show bc I heard there was cheating in it😂like I kinda agree she's cheating but that's what I liked
