I am so glad you loved the ending. In the beginning of the previous episode, you had wished for the King to be transported to the future (present day) with Ji-yeong and the writers made your wish come true 😂😂😂 .... I jist have one nit to pick. That part where they did not explain how he came to the modern day was not explicitly explained. "It's a secret" seemed like a piece of lazy writing but they did insinuate that that torn piece of the book, which contained the name of the dish that meant something about going back home - that was what brought the king to her. It would have been better if they had shown his first reaction when a man from the early 16th century found himself in the 21st century. I would have loved that addition. Anyways, I loved this drama. It was fun. I had a great time analyzing the historical aspect of this drama. Yoon-a was great. I loved her comic timing. When I first started, I have to admit I was apprehensive about Lee Chae-min being cast in this role. In my head, I kept thinking how Park Sung-hoon would have made such a good tyrant king - since he was the original choice for the role. But now I am completely sold by Lee Chae-min's performance. He did a splendid job, I must say. And their chemistry was just 👌

that ending i was kind of hoping was just incase of a 2nd season. if that were the case then it would be used as the introductory episode sequence and, although i don’t have faith that it’ll happen, that kind of excused it in my head :’)

you should watch a "a dream within a dream". its a historical Chinese drama but the main character is from the modern world and she becomes part of a book. In the original plot the male lead is a villian that ends up killing her so she tries to avoid him and change the plot. Also a Korean drama "Arthdal chronicles" its about birth of civilization in a fictional land that is supposed to be like the 1st ever human civilization. The main charachter is igutu which a mix of your normal humans and then a faster stronger species of human that has been oppressed/ hunted. Basically we watch his journey. Dont want to spoil I'm recommending these ones because you said you don't like historical unless the story has a twist to it that makes it new and refreshing like this show. 1st show has comedy and 2nd show is more serious but its literally the most unique kdrama ive ever watched. Also since the 2nd show is about a fictional ancient land theres a lot of new costume designs that don't really have anything to do with histroical korean culture youve seen

I decided to take time off work this week because I am "sick". Sick of needing to finish the show asap! Great written show!!!! The show was very well balanced with the rom, com, feudal politics, and the right amount of drama. From start to finish, the cooking aspect of the show was brilliantly written into all the plots of the show. I think 12 episodes was also the perfect amount. No fillers, no illogical decisions to prolong a plotline. Each episode did not feel over an hour. Great pacing all throughout. Great ending with the door open for a season 2/spinoff!
