Singles Inferno was filmed around June, and the reunion happened in December. I honestly feel so bad for Mingee. During the interview, when Seungil was asked whether he had kept in touch with her, he phrased his answer really nicely and made it sound positive… but then the camera switched to Mingee, and she completely shut that down 😆 And honestly, I don’t blame her at all. When she said, “The guy I liked is still stuck in the Inferno,” that really hit. To me, it sounds like she feels the version of Seungil she met on the show wasn’t the real him — that he showed a different, maybe even fake side. It’s especially disappointing because on their first date, he said he dislikes two-faced people… yet his actions ended up feeling exactly that way. What makes it worse is that he had a choice. He didn’t have to pick anyone to leave Inferno with. But he chose Mingee — and then ghosted her afterward? That’s weak. If he wasn’t interested or didn’t feel the same way, he should have been honest instead of just disappearing. Mingee was reportedly cast for Singles Inferno three times before. She turned it down twice and only decided to join this season because she genuinely wanted to find a real relationship. That makes everything even sadder, honestly. Meanwhile, there are rumors that Seungil might have already been in a relationship outside the show — that he had a girlfriend while appearing on Singles Inferno. If that’s true, then it really changes everything. It would mean he wasn’t there for love, but for publicity. At the beginning of the show, he had around 80K followers on Instagram. Thanks to the attention he got — especially from his storyline with Mingee — his following went up to about 907K. But after the reunion aired and people saw how everything unfolded, he started losing followers and is now down to around 883K. A lot of viewers are now seeing major red flags in his behavior. If he really went on the show for clout while Mingee was there sincerely looking for something real, that’s just disappointing. How could Seungil let go of someone like Mingee? She’s genuinely beautiful inside and out.

Imo everyone would be fine if seung-il just didn’t have feelings but it’s the way he ghosted her. Just so disrespectful which is what’s causing the backlash

It’s nice to finally see a reunion episode in a Korean dating show. Chinese dating shows always do reunions to give updates on the cast’s current relationships, so it’s great to see Korea starting to do the same.
