Sad part is that FL's parents may look unrealistic to some people because how harsh they have been to her and still expect her to be perfect daughter and respect them no matter what. But in reality most older generation asian parents are like that. They don't acknowledge their mistakes and you should put up with it just cause they're your parents.

especially when the kids are third culture kids, it has never and will never make sense to us🥲

Communication between parent and a kid is pretty much non existent in asian culture and we grow up with dictators instead of parents. Hopefully our generation will be the one that brakes the chain.
