And I am off now in Order to Contemplate how to Attain the Supreme and Final Wisdom and become a Buddha. Civilization IV Technologies ~ Priesthood *Ping!* “The Lord Bless you and Keep you. The Lord make his Face to Shine upon you and be Gracious to you. The Lord Lift up his Countenance upon you and give you Peace.” ~ The Bible, Numbers

Are you guys getting a mathematician to help you with non-Euclidean Geometry? Also, I expect a LOT of Gauss fun

I wonder if they'll borrow someone from Brady Haran's Numberphile, like Dr. Holly Krieger or Cliff Stoll

James's academic background in classics is already pretty well suited to explore the history of Euclid and non-Euclidean geometry--I know he already has books in his own collection on this, back from his college days. This series will definitely feel a little bit like "Extra Math," but expect fewer numbers and more theory/concepts. --Belinda

I can assure you that a lot of written histories have a lot of fantastical elements in their narrative. Medieval chronicles were fond of using the Trojan War as a reference for dating things, for example, and the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle claims that Alfred of Wessex was descended from Odin, Thor and Frey. Herodotus also famously recounted a tall tale about the fish in the Nile swimming so close to the banks that the fins on one side were worn off. And this is without going into more technical discussions on the validity of sources or the everpresent risk of propaganda.

Darn math nerds invading my history nerd channels, I thought we had a deal going.

Wouldn’t it still be better to get some expert on every series just in case. If it’s a money issue make it the next Patreon goal.

You said that you were running out of time. This is just me, but I wouldn't mind if the lies episodes were 30mins or longer on average. I would prefer it if you did whatever felt right for the series and I wouldn't mind that including a bunch of tangents

Bill Lemmond

I also found this short for a Lies episode. Was less left out? Did you make fewer mistakes (Yes, I caught the "1930s" mistake. Wow.)? Is there just that much less known about Africa? I always felt sad, in grade school, when most of the year of world history was devoted to Europe, less to Asia, still less to Africa, and least of all to Latin America. I think it's an ongoing source of ignorance, at least in the US.
