The Extra History Suggestion Survey is OPEN until 11/8 (Patreon)

Hello, You Amazing Patreon Members!

Our next theme is The Napoleonic Wars!

That's right Extra Historians, dust off your Hornblower and get that sword Sharpe, we're going to the Napoleonic era! The Napoleonic Wars of 1803-1815 changed Europe as we know it, shattering monarchies and spreading revolutionary ideas—while also giving us some of the most dramatic tales of the 19th century. For this topic vote, we'll be accepting topics that deal with this period. It could cover a particular event, such as the Peninsular Campaign, the Hundred Days (culminating in Waterloo) or Napoleon's invasion of Russia. Alternately we could examine a specific historical character—whether that be Napoleon himself, the eventual Duke of Wellington, or a small but fascinating character like Thomas Cochrane, the daring frigate captain whose life inspired both Horatio Hornblower and Patrick O'Brian's Jack Aubrey, and who went on to work as a mercenary in South America. Topics that connect directly to the wars, such as the rise of Napoleon, will also be considered.

You can enter YOUR suggestions for the topic HERE in this form.

Some notes about suggestions:

• If a suggestion we encounter only has enough research material/production scope for a one-off episode instead of a full series, we file it in a separate list to reference later when we are planning to schedule a one-off episode between series (this is true for every survey we do).
• Only one suggestion per person, please! Multiple suggestions from the same person during any given survey period will be manually removed. Extra History Suggestion Survey is OPEN until 10/12.

We can't wait to read all your suggested topics!
