Deadline missed and a pause (Patreon)

If you've been paying attention to my posts (or lack thereof) you will have noticed that I have yet to upload any exclusive stories for June.

I have reasons, the same reasons for previous delays: real life got in the way, depression or just a general lack of motivation hindered my creativity and enthusiasm (much of it caused by real life), I wanted to make time for stuff other than writing/staring at my computer, or I just got distracted.

None of these are excuses, just reasons. I'm not asking for forgiveness for, yet again, failing to hit the month's end deadline, just understanding.

This is not to say I didn't get any writing done for the entire month. I started several stories, and a couple days ago managed to finish one. I just haven't proofread and posted it yet, though I plan to do so today.

But that still leaves two other stories for last month, and here we are already five days into the new month. At best I'll get a second story done and ready to post tomorrow (which is not guaranteed), but that's still nearly a week into July and I'll still be playing catch-up for June.

So I've done something I've wanted to do several times over the years: I've paused billing for a month. Between today and August 5th no one will be charged here on Patreon, save anyone subscribing anew (and possibly if someone moves to a higher tier?). I get an extra paycheck at my day job this month, so my own subscriptions here will be covered and I don't have to worry about dipping into the red come August 1st.

This means that once I get caught up on my June obligations - which I hope to get through in as timely a manner as I can manage - I'll have the rest of the month to work on new material that I can hold off on posting until August. Best case scenario is I start next month with three stories completely done, and then any work I do in August I can save in reserve for September, and going forward I'll be ahead of schedule each month.

Worst case is I finish nothing before August 1st, but I'll still have 30 days then to get three stories up before September 1st. But I'm trying to stay optimistic here.

I apologize for missing yet another deadline, and I hope giving myself a month 'off' will allow me to get back on track. Thank you for your continued support and patience.
