Hello everyone!

Today I'll not post the devlog because this week has been only on bug hunting, I have nothing really impressive to show you, to be honest.

Instead, let's do a poll! We're considering extending the game's creator to include NPC followers. Our idea would be to give the Follower an initial predefined look and then allow the Player to customize the follower's appearance. And we want to do that. Since this would be a long and complicated feature to create and connect to the existing creator, our concern lies in the question of "how detailed?"

So the question we're asking you today is: would you prefer a fully detailed "Follower Creator" where you can change every single aspect of the NPC Follower?

Or a creator that lets you maintain their basic appearance by only changing a few sliders? Examples: breast size, butt size, and things like that.

The poll will close on next Saturday, 21 of February.

Was thinking ala "Dragons Dogma" pawn creator, but then I forgot I suck at moving the sliders. Ends up looking like a Frankensteins monster..

The Hair Selector can definitely be done. Hair type and length

A Light version of the Follower Creator would not give too much freedom to modify the sliders, so there would not be this danger :)

I would prefer the simple follower creator first, and then the fully detailed later on depending on interest. I think the fully detailed creator is too complex/time consuming to focus on now considering most will be satisfied with the simple creator.

I agree with that! But I also know that if a very detailed creator is the expected outcome, we will have to start planning for it now even if we initially release a lighter creator. Otherwise it will turn out like crap

My opinion is that it depends on how many NPCs you have and when they're introduced. If it's just one or two and from the start then go ham, but if it's more than that or over the course of the game then something simpler might be better. Either way, I imagine that turning off sliders you don't need is easier than adding them later.

I agree with you. Our plan is to start already with 2 NPC followers in the demo, +1 for who bought the Noble of Valmora Tier, so they are 3 already. I expect to have a cap of maybe 5-6 NPCs following you at time but have many followers around the map, so you can choose your followers based on their skill (searching for synergy with your build), or simply choose the followers that you like the most. And for the lewds too, of course. So a complex system would be maybe an overkill; but pre-made appearance exists too, so if the player doesn't want customization can simply keep the default appearance. I think that it goes mainly with the taste of the one that is playing

I see. With that many different companions I would definitely suggest keeping the options simple. Just slight variations on a default appearance. Hair, makeup, scars/tattoos, the ubiquitous clothes (or lack thereof), maybe the fun bits within moderation, etc. If doable, though, I think the Nobility should get the full creator for their special companion.
