Dev-log #24 - Horse Saddle wardrobe - 21/03/2026 (Patreon)

Welcome back to our devlog appointment.

Last time, we've showed the village, the first place inhabited by humans encountered upon exiting the cave. The first mission takes place between the goblin cave and this village, so it's an important first step in the first part of the story.

Today, however, we will look at the system for selecting horse saddles that we have developed in recent days.

It's still very rough, but it works very well. We started by purchasing and owning the horse; we plan to keep the horse active on the map throughout the game. The horse won't follow the player but can be easily summoned using a hotkey (for now, we've chosen the "Z" hotkey).

But is that all there is to it now that you own the horse? Of course not. Each village/city will have an NPC defined as a "stable keeper" or "stock keeper" who will allow you to customize your horse (or any future mounts) through a selection menu, as you can seen in the video.

We hope you like it! While it's not yet aesthetically appealing, we wanted to create a system that would give visual feedback on your mount customizations as well. Of course, we will definitely add many more mounts and offer the same customization system across all of them.

Oh, and be sure to listen to the video with the audio. You might find a surprise if you pay close enough attention.
