Open shade can be your best friend (Patreon)

When I’m shooting outdoors, I’ll regularly use open shade as it provides a soft light and changes it up from harsh light, especially if it’s outside of golden hour. I captured this portrait of model Mara Daniels in Los Angeles using open shade on this balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
