Here's another painting techniques video! In this one we'll discuss oil painting techniques for Procreate. During this video we'll discuss:

Characteristics of oil painting

How to achieve a realistic canvas look

What brushes to use

How to make your own oil brush

Tips, tricks and pitfalls

I have attached a special brush pack and a photo texture (as always, make sure to use a browser like Safari or Chrome when downloading, the Patreon app won't let you download attachments unfortunately).

And here are some painting tutorials if you want to get some step by step tutorial action:

Painterly Avocado

Painterly Fall Landscape

Painterly Still Life

Painterly City Scape

Painterly Boat

Autumn Cabin

Van Gogh Sunflowers

Cabin in the Woods

Still life with Bottle and Bread

Vase with Flowers

I'm looking forward to seeing your results! Will you share them in the Flocreate Community? (JOIN HERE if you haven't already) Have fun!

Thank you! So helpful to know the characteristics of IRL oil painting. I was wondering that! Of course I reviewed the great, historic, famous paintings - but you gave us an art lesson! Thanks for linking your tuts too :)

I just wanted to thank you for the abundance of tutorials, which I'm now following after I joined Patreon, in addition to your YT ones. I'm going through chemo at the moment, and the side effects of this treatment is numbness in the fingers. Doctors say I should just keep exercising the hands, and continue doing what I can. Doing the tutorials is helping, and it's nicer to have something to show at the end, rather than just doing physical exercises :) Only thing is my hands are not quite steady, and fingers can't really hold the pen tightly yet, but I'm still managing to produce something that I'm happy with.

Thank you so much for sharing this with me. It’s truly inspiring to hear how art is helping you through such a tough time. Your determination and positivity shine through, and I’m so glad the tutorials bring you joy and a creative outlet. Keep going at your own pace – every piece you make is a testament to your strength! Sending you all the positive energy and support ❤️
