A few week ago I visited the city of Ghent in Belgium and it was so inspiring! I loved roaming around through the streets, especially in the early morning. It was just magical 😊 And I thought one of the picture I took would be a great reference for a painting. So let's go!

The color palette we'll be using is attached to the post (as always, make sure to use a browser like Safari or Chrome when downloading, the Patreon app won't let you download attachments unfortunately).

City Street in the Morning - Drawing from a photo

In this tutorial we'll use a photo that I took in Ghent on a trip and turn it into a more stylized drawing. You can apply this technique to your own photos as well!

This is stunning! It looks challenging, but I’m excited to try it!

I love how in every single one of the videos like this, where Flo hasn’t planned it out entirely, she always gets so surprised by her own skill and it is honestly such a great feeling to be able to witness. Like she starts adding dabs of color and then she zooms out and is like “I like that!! Yeahhhh I like that” it’s one of my favorite parts

Haha, thank you so much! It's what I enjoy so much about creating, it's always a surprise to see how it turns out and it's so much fun to just experiment and go with the flow. I'm happy to hear you like that part! 😁

So interesting to listen to you work through an unprepared drawing. This is my favourite type of tutorial. You make decisions as you go and it allows us to understand your thought process. ⭐ Beautiful result, too! And the colours.. ⭐️ On the Flo brush!, ..what a good name! Cracks me up every time i see it.
