This one is as much a tutorial as it is an exercise. We are painting a still life, a simple bowl with carrots, but the real challenge is keeping the brushwork loose and painterly all the way through. No sketching, no zooming in, no getting lost in the details. The tip I kept coming back to: limitations are your friend. Stick to just a few brush sizes, a handful of colors, and resist the urge to refine everything. It sounds restrictive, but it actually frees you up. I built the color palette as I went, which is part of the challenge. Have fun!

The color palette we'll be using is attached to the post (as always, make sure to use a browser like Safari or Chrome when downloading, the Patreon app won't let you download attachments unfortunately).

Carola Schöpf

Dear Flo, is it possible to write down the brushes you use in the projects? It would be so grateful. Thank you in advanced Carola

I'll see what I can do! Thank you for the suggestion

I don’t see that brush in my Procreate maybe there’s another version I’m not seeing or I need to download it somewhere else. Please let me know.

If these brushes are no longer available or if there is a reference video on how to create them using the standard procreate brushes please lmk

What brushes are you missing exactly? Have you tried using the search function in your brush menu yet? (just slide down on you brush menu to open it at the top)
